Reboot!

I’ve been meaning to rekindle this idea for sometime now. I’ve got one old article on Deeb’s 2011 Fiat 500 that is 3/4‘s written, with photos to boot, which I could easily finish. The Dan180 car of reference, became the Team Handsome fleet (two cars) for a while, and has gone back down to one car again recently. I’ve even got plenty of photo’s and (mental) notes on the Transit van I hired back in January of this year, so there’s a good few articles worth, that I can be working on and publishing during this ‘Lockdown’ period we all find ourselves in. I think I’ll start things off with a Lockdown Special, inspired by my boredom induced revisit of Gran Turismo 6 on my old PS3!

The Idea

You'll know the theory. We're all only separated from any other person on the planet by being a friend of a friend... So I'm wondering whether the same is true for cars. I've started by asking a few friends to lend me their cars for at least a few hours, then I'll go for a good old drive, take some nice pictures, and write a short article to be posted on this blog site.

When I return the car to said friend, I'll ask them to recommend friends of theirs, who have cars they like, and who would probably be willing to lend me their pride and joy to write about in a future blog posting. The hope is that as time goes by I'll be introduced to an ever growing circle of likeminded petrol-heads willing to lend me an ever increasingly variety of cars to review.

How many degrees of separation am I from driving some of my all time favourite cars? Will friends of friends be willing to lend me their cars? Will friends be willing to lend me their cars for that matter?! Will I get beyond one or two degrees of separation? There's only one way to find out...

The Background

For quite some time I have been wanting to try my hand at creating interesting articles that other petrol-heads would want to read. After drafting a few articles, some more original than others, I came upon this concept as a cheap, interesting, and hopefully novel way to write about a wide variety of vehicles. For various reasons I have decided to limit myself and my resources, which is why I am using a blog site rather than create a website, and plan to use basic equipment to create the artwork to illustrate these articles.
